Matthew Jumpsen

Although I have been gigging professionally for nearly fifteen years, I consider myself an emerging artist in the Calgary blues & roots scene. Over that time I have built a strong repertoire of original music. My guitar playing and songwriting style comes from a more recent generation of blues icons such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, and Colin James; although I am no stranger to legends like BB King and Buddy Guy. I am equally inspired by local musicians such as Ray Lemelin, Mike Clark, Mike Watson, and the recently departed Tim Williams. I've played many of the top venues around Calgary like The Blues Can, The Ironwood, South Block BBQ, and most notably at the 2025 Calgary Bluesfest. I am currently working on my debut album, set to release fall of 2026.
